About

I came to design through research.

My background is in human factors — studying how people work with complex systems under real conditions, from emergency-response robotics to digital library services. That grounding in observation and measurement still shapes how I approach design: watch first, assume later, and focus on what actually changes how people work.

I've spent most of my career on products where complexity is unavoidable: geospatial platforms at Esri, developer infrastructure and startup tooling at AWS. The consistent challenge is making powerful systems legible to the people who depend on them.
